Thank you for your interest in the Interact Club and we hope that you are as excited for this year as we are!
The South Windsor Interact Club is the largest club at the high school, in addition to being part of an international organization. Interact Clubs give students the chance to make a real difference while having fun. We are required to come up with, plan, and execute community service projects both within the community and outside of it. Each Interact Club must also plan and carry out one project that promotes international understanding. We have done a great job of meeting these minimum requirements and helping other local clubs or organizations with their events.
Our goal is to give you opportunities to connect with community leaders, develop leadership skills, make new friendships within the school, better our community and the world, and to have fun!
We meet once a month (typically the first Thursday unless we do not have school that day) in the Media Center Seminar Room at 2:05. Meetings typically last until 2:30/2:45. Dues to the club, as mentioned above, are $5, payable in cash each year. This allows us to continue to operate.
When you sign up for an event, you should make sure you can attend. If you have to cancel, you should do so days in advance by contacting the officers at our email ([email protected]). We would urge you to use your planners or phone calendars or talk to mom or dad BEFORE you sign up. We’d also like to remind you to wear your SWHS Interact Club tee shirts to events in order to represent our club. Tee shirts for new members and those ordering them will be ordered in October, and an email will be sent when they are ready to pick up. When you attend an event, in order to earn credit, please take a picture of yourself there, and email it to us. We encourage group photos!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask us through email, through Mrs. Howard, or through any of the officers. Our officers for this year are Van Anh Tran, Amy Sapowadia, Krishna Chilakapati, Nikitha Zachariah, Leah Craig, Arsalan Zaki, and Emma Sansom.
